INSIDE MOVES: A WAINWRIGHT MYSTERY (Book #2)
THE STORY of a MAN’S SEARCH for the WORLD HE LOST
Amnesia Took His Past — The Mob Stole His Wife.
Getting Them Back May Cost Him His Life
After a horrific car crash, best-selling mystery and suspense novelist Garth Wainwright has no memory of how he ended up at UCLA Medical Center with a wired jaw, a broken arm, and other serious injuries. In fact, he has no memories at all. Following a month-long hospital stay, he’s released with the clothes he wore on admission, some keys, and a wallet.
A taxi drops Wainwright at the address on his driver’s license. One of his keys fits the lock, but as he stands in the kitchen, he feels like a burglar in another man’s home. After an exhaustive search, he finds an honorable discharge from the US Navy, a deed to his condo, and a marriage license. There’s just one problem: he has no clue who his wife is.
Eventually, he learns that his wife, attorney Lacey Kinkaid Wainwright, was with him during the crash but subsequently vanished. Is she dead? Was her body snatched? Was she kidnapped?
The LA Sheriff’s Department says the crash was no accident. Rather, it was a deliberate attempt to murder Wainwright. Logic says the person who tried to kill him is the one who has Lacey. But why? Wainwright’s frantic search for his wife and his lost memories stalls when he discovers evidence of Lacey’s hidden past life—a life that offends him and his sense of morality. Even so, he’s committed to tracking her down and freeing her from whoever’s holding her hostage, no matter the cost.
When Lacey’s captor, the head of a vast crime cartel, is identified, Wainwright launches a perilous international rescue mission with the help of his longtime friend Greg Mulholland of the FBI, Boston DA Investigator Renato Wilson, and an extremely unlikely and deadly ally, whom he must learn to trust to save Lacey before it’s too late.
With electrifying action scenes at every turn, author Walter Danley takes readers on a white-knuckle international journey into one man’s quest to regain his memories—and the love of his life.
THE BLASTED SERIES (Book #1)
When THEN turns into NOW, you are in a BLASTED PAST
Jim Nagle was beset with more problems than any 54-year old investment executive could handle. His ex-wife had her lawyers on him, his estranged son was in jail, and the California State Franchise Board was chasing him for back taxes. It seemed that everyone was against him. The topper of it all was that his business was growing so fast he was mismanaging it.
Then, in a single moment of a heartbeat his life was changed forever. A freak accident thrust Nagle back 145 years in time. Could this be real? Did this really happen? Is it even possible? Time had just been ripped away from him and Nagle finds himself stranded in a small post-Civil War Texas town.
He couldn’t deny reality standing on the dusty streets of this frontier village. The town was populated with gunfighters, drifters, hostile Indians and prostitutes sprinkled among the solid German immigrant citizens that founded it. Nagle came to believe that only God could have brought him to this place. A life-long Catholic, Nagle had slipped from grace with the Church over the years. His being here could not have been an accident but a part of God’s plan. Nagle’s renewed faith convinces him that his Maker wants him in 1872 for a reason. But what is that purpose? Was he sent here to change history? What was significant about being put in this place at this time in antiquity?
And while he waited for understanding of his circumstances, he needed to develop new coping skills to exist in this primitive environment. The modern contrivances he always relied on hadn’t been invented yet. This was a whole new ballgame. In fact, as he soon discovered, he would need some specialized skills pretty darn quick—just to stay alive.

What our fans think about the books?
Having represented major authors for many years, gave me a good insight to The Tipping Point. I always look for material that is not only intelligent but is a good story. The Tipping Point is well written and a good read. I highly recommend this novel.- Michael I. LevyFilm Producer
I will definitely be reading the sequel of this book when it comes out and will be investigating more work by Walter Danley, he is a very talented author and I love how he brings his characters to life.- Rebbie Reviews
The book started off slowly and got a bit bogged down in the weeds of real estate. I could see how some people might lose patience with it. However, it picks up and become an interesting mystery. Garth Wainwright's partner is murdered on a ski trip in Colorado. People begin to believe his suspicions when a second partner is killed. Prevent embezzlement with out the company being destroyed by the SEC? This is a fascinating glimpse into the world of high finance, with a murderous twist.- K. SpringsAuthor
Well developed characters in a great business/murder intrigue that had me staying up late. I miss the characters already. Looking forward to that next book.- Beckie Canon
This smart, sexy thriller contains interesting characters, detailed descriptions, and heart-pounding action scenes. There are mysteries revealed within the mystery as the plot unfolds and the very tangled web is exposed. There’s also a touch of romance, along with international travel. The action scenes are deftly crafted and can easily be viewed in the mind’s eye. Fans of Ian Fleming and John Grisham will enjoy this book.- Valorie CooperMember, National Book Critics Circle
Danley’s storytelling ability is quite good. I couldn’t stop reading. He was like Hansel and Gretel leaving breadcrumbs for me to follow. Danley’s forays into the lives of the characters reveal a lot, and by doling them out little by little the reader speculates on the actual criminal. When the truth is finally revealed, the reader can look back and say, yes, I remember that now.- J.L. MitchellAuthor/Copy Editor
Walter Danley’s protagonist, Garth Wainwright, is a driven man: Driven by ambition and blessed with those special competitive genes that transport a chosen few into the corporate boardroom... Danley sets terrific scenes—from the ski slopes to the Carribean— and has an ear for corporate jargon and interpersonal relationships that revolve around jealousy, greed, personal parking spaces, and missing millions. More importantly, the plot spins on a dime and you’ll find yourself smiling.- James Gary VineyardAuthor
We all like them: those stories that get your blood pumping, your heart racing and keeps you guessing right up to the end. It's ok to admit it. We all have those type of books we like to devour and then can't wait until the next one. It's because of this that I'm excited to tell you about author Walter Danley's THE TIPPING POINT. If you are looking for something that is tailor-made for readers of adventure and suspense than your wait is over.- Cyrus Webb"Conversations Book Club"
This is a solid thriller that kept my attention from beginning to end. This is a smartly written book with an iron-clad plot, believable characters and enough suspense to keep you reading into the wee hours of the morning. I blame Walter for my lack of sleep. (Thanks!) This is a great read, especially if you love suspense and thrillers. The cover leaves a lot to be desired. I think that if you spruced it up a bit with a new cover, you'd really draw in some suspense readers in need of a high-paced action thriller.- Bibliophile Book Reviews
Three partners of a successful, opulent corporation have been murdered, and colleagues Wainright and Shaw are trying to convince the police that these deaths weren't merely accidental. Something sinister is going on at CapVest, and these two men aren't sure if they're going to be next on the list to be eliminated... Those of us in the 99% will be astonished at how far greed will motivate some people. I positively recommend this quality fiction novel.- Susan UttendorfskyOwner, Adirondack Editing

It is my pleasure to recommend this book to any serious mystery book lover. It will grab the reader's attention right away and lead them inexorably to the unexpected finish. This book is worthy of five stars. Mr. Danley's work reminds one favorably of stories by such authors as Dashiell Hammett and James Anderson.- Dan GloverAuthor
I loved the progression of the story - good development of the characters and story-telling. I loved the character of Garth Wainwright - a good guy not afraid to dive into anything but in a don't-mess-with-me-or-my-friends kind of way with brains and courage to back it up. I liked that the foul language and explicit sex was kept to a minimum by including it where it was necessary as part of the story and characters (as in, it makes sense that this is what they would do/say at this part of the story; not just because they are foul-mouthed and promiscuous just to be that way). I will recommend this book.- Shannon A.
I may be a little biased, being the son of the author, but I enjoyed this book very much. In my opinion, it is very well written and very exciting. I love the way each character is introduced. I found myself not wanting to put it down so I could find out what was going to happen next, which is how a good book should be written, right??? Great job Dad!!! Can't wait for the next one! God bless!!- Aaron Danley
Previously I shared my like for the book after only just reading the description and seeing the trailer. After reading the book, I can confirm this is a highly intelligent and intriguing read, an up-to-date thriller, with true flavors of the financial world. Any investor should take a look at this real and enlightening view of the corporate/investment world. I'm looking forward to the next Wainwright mystery!- Barbara K.
When reading this financial crime (fiction) I was impressed by the story's decent evolution. The characters are realistic and believable with all their flaws. The story is subtly written, making it difficult to put the book away. I had to, several times and - it was hard. Walter Danley took 20 years to write The Tipping Point, recreating experiences made during his career in commercial real estate. Firm, characters, conflicts, murder, greed, etc. are completely fictional. A must read for all crime fans.- Amazon Customer
